Week 14, August 3, 2026 at the Project GREEN Gardens

Hi All,

Not much time to do justice for all the hard work Project GREEN volunteers have contributed to the PGG this past Monday, the beginning of Week 14. Today’s essay will list volunteers who were in attendance Monday morning, August 3. I’ll give an updated Numbers for Week 14. I’ll throw in a few pretty pictures from the PGG. Here goes…

Volunteers who were in attendance August 3 from 9 – 11 a.m. including extra time were: Diane Allen 5 hours, Mary Laughlin 1 hour, Sue Mullins 2 hours, Linda Bergquist 3 hours, Cindy Parsons 6 1/2 hours, Lisa Haverkamp Master Gardener hours, Monica Hoherz 3 hours, Barb Schintler 3 hours, Evelyn Frey 2 hours, Jim Peters 5 hours, Rina Sjolund 1 hour Tuesday, 8/4, Diane Allen 8/8 for 3 hours accounting for reimbursements. Also 1 hour writing this essay and tomorrow I’ll shop at Lowe’s for 3 bags of top soil for Monica and a green clock for the Ashton House garage which will add another hour to my volunteer list for Week 14. Anyone whose efforts for Week 14 (8/3 though 8/9) are not listed please list the extra times when signing in on Monday morning.

Here are the numbers after 14 weeks volunteering at the PGG: Weeks 1 – 13 + Week 14 = 728 1/2 hours + 36 1/2 hours

= 765 hours working at the PGG for Week 14, from 8/3 through 8/9! Terrific job to all our volunteers! Many thanks to each of you.

Here are a couple gorgeous pictures showing surprise lilies in bloom at the PGG:

Our next work session will be Monday, August 10 from 9 – 11 a.m. This will be the beginning of Week 15. Hope to see LOTS of volunteers. Remind Cindy and me to explain what we learned this past Monday when we met with Sean Pearl, owner of Sustainable Landscaping Solutions.

Happy gardening! Diane
