Hi All,
It is finished. The PGG have been put to sleep after 26 weeks of care from gifted & dedicated Project GREEN volunteers. Many thanks to the 16 gardeners in attendance: Larry Allen (forgotten 1 hour October 21, oops!), Linda Bergquist, Monica Hoherz, Rina Sjolund, Susan Ahrens, Hetty Hall, Pat Yeggy, Mary Laughlin, Evelyn Frey, Cindy Parsons, Dhyana Kaufman, Lisa Haverkamp, Sue Terveer-Mullins, Kate Ebinger, Chris Ostrander, and moi. Everyone stayed their 9 – 11 a.m. hours except a couple came or left a little early and four volunteers each stayed 1/2 hour extra. Let’s count an extra hour for our team!
Here’s the hours after week 26: Weeks 1 – 25 + Week 26 = 958 1/2 hours + 33 hours = 991 1/2 hours after 26 weeks together.
Many thanks, but there’s more to our 2024 story!
Roger Swartz has finished his 2024 work for the Little Free Library (LFL). “It has been renovated and painted and ready for winter” explains Roger after his last day caring for his creation. Anyone with books to donate please let me know. Mary Laughlin keeps the LFL filled and open for business all year long. Roger has spent 40 hours caring for the LFL in 2024. Now our total is 1,031 1/2 hours for Project GREEN 2024 gardeners!
And again, that’s not the end of our 2024 story!
Tomorrow morning (November 4) is our celebration brunch beginning 9 a.m. Please attend if you have been part of any volunteer work at the PGG in 2024. During our time together we will watch a May to October slide show showing our group’s weekly progress at the PGG. There are two large catalogs for volunteers to look for 2025 ideas at the PGG. There will be paper for you you to record ideas for each garden. We need to get our order to Dawn Bouslog at Pleasant Valley Greenhouses soon. After brunch there will be time for us to remember our successes and discuss ideas for next year. Sounds like fun, eh? I will be taking pictures to add to our slide show and of course, our time together will be added to our 1031 1/2 amount.
Expect to hear from me one more time this year with our final hours count. Hope to see lots of Project GREEN volunteers at my house tomorrow AND by the way, isn’t this rain wonderful??? Diane
