Time has gone quickly since last Monday. Here it is Sunday evening and I’m just getting started writing my tenth message telling the story of 2026 PGG. Please forgive me as I will keep this short.
There were 12 Project GREEN volunteers in attendance for our tenth week together since the beginning of May. We worked our usual 9 – 11 a.m. times, with many recording extra time since we met last Monday. The volunteers were: Diane Allen 6 hours, Lisa Haverkamp 8 1/2 hours, Rina Sjolund, Jim Peters 6 hours, Cindy Parsons 6 hours, Linda Bergquist, Mary Laughlin 1 hour, Chris Ostrander 3 hours, Erin Buscher, Sue Mullins 2 1/2 hours, Monica Hoherz 4 hours, Nick Goergen 5 hours. At 9 a.m. it was 75 degrees and when we headed home at 11 a.m. it was 79 degrees. The air quality was 63, moderate. Our Garden’s rainfall for the past week (6/29 through 7/5) was 1.64 to 1.90 inches. We loved every last drop!
Here are the numbers for ten weeks working at the Project GREEN Gardens. Weeks 1 – 9 + Week 10 = 587 hours + 48 hours
= 635 hours for Project GREEN volunteers!
As always, thanks so much for all you do! The Gardens continue to get more beautiful every week.
If anyone would like to begin early (8 a.m.) Monday morning, please do! I will be there at this time. We will volunteer two hours as usual, ending at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Our week 11 goal is to WATER and make pretty all the beds. Project GREEN is hosting a party beginning at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday July 14th. We will be celebrating the Lunar Horizon, moon gate’s installation with our very own Project GREEN volunteer, Nick Goergen, as the art work’s designer, builder, and installer! The party is planned for an hour and will end at 5:30 p.m. We will meet at the AH veranda and refreshments will served in the AH lower level. All are welcome!
Evelyn asked for someone to water and pull weeds at her corner as she’s out-of-town.
